Food & Hospitality Asia 2026

SINGAPORE: The Sarawak Pavilion has taken center stage at Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) 2026, standing out among hundreds of exhibitors by showcasing the uniqueness and innovation of local products. Managed by the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), the Sarawak Pavilion occupies a 126-square-meter space and brings together 19 exhibitors. This group includes several new participants, reflecting the dynamic growth within Sarawak’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector. Products on display include Sarawak pepper, bird’s nest, Empurau fish, and Sarawak SG1 pineapple. The pavilion also features tasting sessions, allowing visitors to personally experience the unique flavors of Sarawakian products.
Commenting on the event, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan stated that platforms like FHA 2026 provide vital space for local entrepreneurs to expand their markets and strengthen their international brand influence. He noted that innovative products, such as Midin (jungle fern) tea, demonstrate the ability of local entrepreneurs to add value to existing resources. "The Midin vegetable we know well has now been successfully commercialized into a beverage and is well-received in the Singapore market. This proves our products are unique and capable of attracting attention in overseas markets," he said.
He made these remarks during an interview with the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) after officiating the opening of the Sarawak Pavilion on Tuesday. Furthermore, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah, who is also the Sarawak Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment, emphasized that Sarawak’s strengths in the agriculture and fisheries sectors provide a solid foundation for entrepreneurs to compete globally. "Today’s consumers prioritize product quality and safety. This requires entrepreneurs to adjust their production processes and standards to meet market demands," he added. Also in attendance were Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh; STATOS Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani; Advisor to the Ministry Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais; Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operations) and STATOS Board Member Datuk Hii Chang Kee; Datuk Ngui Ying Ying; Datuk Lester Matthew; Datuk Laura Lee Ngien Hion; Charlie Soh Poh Peng; and CEO Chew Chang Guan. FHA 2026 is held from April 21 to 24 at the Singapore EXPO and is expected to attract over 80,000 international visitors, further expanding business networks and investment opportunities.
