Singapore expo best platform to showcase Sarawak’s halal F&B products

KUCHING (April 11): The Food and Hotel Asia-Food and Beverage (FHA-F&B) 2025 expo here should become a key platform for Sarawak to market its halal-certified F&B products to the global market, said Dato Sri Mohd Naroden Majais. According to the Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (Mintred) advisor, Singapore remains one of the most strategic gateways in Southeast Asia to promote Malaysian products. “With over four million people, Singapore offers a sizable market for Sarawak products.
“This exhibition is timely to promote our halal-certified goods, which are ready for export to countries such as Indonesia, Europe, and Saudi Arabia,” he said during a visit to the Sarawak Pavilion at Singapore Expo on Thursday. Mohd Naroden was accompanied by Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee and Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) chief executive officer Chew Chang Guan. Adding on, Mohd Naroden noted that growing global population trends had increased the demand for essential goods, especially food, and in this regard, he commended Statos for successfully showcasing selected Sarawak F&B products at the event.
Running from April 8 to 11, FHA-F&B 2025 featured 19 exhibitors from Sarawak promoting items such as processed bird’s nest, coffee, ‘midin’ (local fern) vegetable tea, white and black pepper, Sarawak laksa paste, and the highly-prized empurau fish. “All products showcased are export-ready. “I encourage interested Singaporeans and Malaysians here to visit our pavilion, view the products, and explore opportunities to bring them abroad,” added Mohd Naroden.
